Recently,The company's independently developed WGQ500A/100 heavy-duty mast-type crane successfully passed the type test at the BASF Zhanjiang integrated project in Zhanjiang, Guangdong, and has been officially put into use.

The BASF Zhanjiang integrated base is the first wholly foreign-owned project in China's heavy chemical industry, with a total investment estimated at10 billion Euros. After the completion of the base, it will increase the annual output of modified engineering plastics for the Chinese market by 60,000 tons. The total production capacity of this product in the Asia-Pacific region will increase to 420,000 tons from 2023, helping to accelerate the creation of a world-class green petrochemical industry cluster and promoting high-quality development.

To meet the characteristics of the on-site installation location, and according to the actual application conditions on site, the company“custom-made” the WGQ500A/100 mast-type crane, with a rated lifting moment of 23500 ton-meters. It has the characteristics of large lifting capacity, large torque, fast lifting speed, high work level, light weight, and strong wind resistance.

“The new equipment needs to solve three problems: high installation stability, fast installation speed, and high wind resistance requirements of the installation equipment.” Chief Engineer Zhang Jiankang said: “We have repeatedly demonstrated from design, materials, manufacturing, electromechanical, and control aspects to ensure the intelligent, visual, and reliable operation of the equipment.” The crane is equipped with an Internet of Things remote monitoring platform and an intelligent operation and maintenance management system to achieve digital safety control and remote monitoring guidance of the crane. It has not only overcome many technological difficulties such as the stability of ultra-long double-arm structures, the disassembly of ultra-large components, the multi-rate change of lifting, and the assessment of the remaining life of components, but also takes into account the pre-embedding and weighting conditions; it can achieve double-hook joint operation or single-hook independent operation, meeting the requirements of different conditions, and significantly improving the versatility of the product.

Excellent technology and manufacturing capabilities ensured that the equipment was successfully installed and put into operation. The commissioning of this equipment demonstrates the company's research and development capabilities in the high-end petrochemical field and in the field of ultra-large mast cranes. In the future, it will stably and efficiently contribute to the construction of the BASF integrated base into a landmark project of a world-class chemical industry cluster.
